Dear Editor

It is my hypothesis that thrombosis/stroke may be due to low DHEA:

Many pathological entities associated with thrombosis may be demonstrated to exhibit low DHEA.

A mother produces DHEA for herself and her fetus. I suggest this split of DHEA may reduce DHEA to very low levels in the mother and trigger the stroke. This may be the mechanism.
