Diagnosing intracranial infectious aneurysms with a simple model

    In the retrospective study of Kannoth and colleagues1 in this issue of J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry (see page 943), a set of diagnostic criteria for intracranial infectious aneurysms (IAs) is suggested. The authors propose that infectious intracranial aneurysms would be predicted by the presence of a mandatory criterion and at least three supportive criteria from any of three domains with a sensitivity of 96% and specificity of 100%.
