In 1959, Golla and Winter described one of the most famous electrophysiological finding in patients with migraine during their routine EEG evaluation, that is, the H-response to flicker lights (Golla and Winter, 1959). Briefly, the authors analyzed the synchronized responses in visual cortex (i.e., SSVEP) to flicker at different stimulating frequencies between control subjects and patients with headache.
