Clinical diagnostic criteria for CJD according to WHO7

Definite CJD
 Neuropathology
Probable CJD
 (1) Progressive dementia
 (2)  Typical EEG (generalised triphasic periodic complexes at approximative 1 Hz)
 (3)  At least two out of the following:
Myoclonus
  Visual or cerebellar disturbances
  Pyramidal/extrapyramidal dysfunction
  Akinetic mutism
Possible CJD
 (1) Same clinical criteria as above
 (2) No EEG available or without a typical EEG
 (3) Duration less than 2 years
