2022, Computer Methods and Programs in BiomedicineA survey on mutual information based medical image registration algorithms
2022, NeurocomputingCitation Excerpt :The participating teams reported in [86,87] are the same except for the team of Maintz, van den Elsen and Viergever ([61,63,62]), reported in [87], who use a fully automatic edgeness volume matching algorithm. Mutual information based algorithms have been used by the teams of Collignon, Maes, Suetens, Vandermeulen (CO) ([13]) and Hill, Hawkes and Studholme (HI) ([42],43,78). The former uses maximization of mutual information (MMI) with Powell’s optimization algorithm, while the later uses a multi-resolution algorithm based on mutual information of joint probability distribution.
