Homeostatic effects of carotid stenosis

Signalling of blood pressure changes is partly the result of carotid sinus function and activity within the afferent glossopharyngeal and vagus nerves. Carotid stenosis is common and often affects the carotid bulb where the arterial baroreceptors are situated.
