I read with interest the article by Moddel et al. about the efficacy of intravenous levetiracetam in the treatment of refractory status epilepticus 1. Their retrospective chart review of 36 patients treated with intravenous levetiracetam suggests that it may be a safe and efficacious treatment for refractory status epilepticus and adds to the existing literature for this off label use.
