RT Journal Article SR Electronic T1 Inverted knee jerk: a neglected localising sign in spinal cord disease. JF Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry JO J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry FD BMJ Publishing Group Ltd SP 1005 OP 1007 DO 10.1136/jnnp.42.11.1005 VO 42 IS 11 A1 Boyle, R S A1 Shakir, R A A1 Weir, A I A1 McInnes, A YR 1979 UL http://jnnp.bmj.com/content/42/11/1005.abstract AB Two cases are described in which inversion of the quadriceps jerk was observed. It is suggested that the finding of an inverted quadriceps jerk is evidence of a spinal cord lesion at 12, 3, 4 segmental level and has for the lumbar cord the same localising value as the inverted supinator jerk for the cervical cord.
