The grandmother and granddaughter have ocular myasthenia and an aunt in the second generation had generalised myasthenia gravis with a thymoma. The pattern of histocompatibility antigens (HLA) haplotypes, anti-AChR antibodies, anti-striate muscle antibodies and thyroid disease is described.
