His physical signs included short stature, thick neck, short fourth metacarpals and metatarsals, and a spastic paraparesis. Serum calcium and phosphate and parathyroid concentrations were normal. Myelography demonstrated compression of the cervical and lumbar cord in association with local bony abnormalities.
