TY - JOUR T1 - Ultrasound: the future for evaluating the PNS in humans? Their observations are consistent with the known morphological2 and MRI3 findings in CMT1A of enlarged nerves. The greater auricular nerve in fact is often palpable because of its large size in CMT1A.4 The authors found that the median nerve was enlarged proximally and distally in patients with CMT1A by evaluating the wrist, mid-forearm and upper arm.1 Thus the ultrasound permitted analysis of the nerve along its length, a potential exciting advantage for its usage in the future.
