Currently, diagnostic criteria proposed by Joint Task Force of the European Federation of Neurological Societies and the Peripheral Nerve Society (EFNS/PNS) are generally used, and the guideline also classified CIDP into the clinical subtypes; ‘typical CIDP’, and ‘atypical CIDP’ included multifocal CIDP (Lewis-Sumner syndrome), distal CIDP (distal acquired demyelinating symmetric) and other variants.2 Separately the association of CIDP and diabetes mellitus has been a matter of controversy.
