Vestibular vertigo (one criterion has to be fulfilled) |
(1) Spontaneous rotational vertigo |
(2) Positional vertigo |
(3) Recurrent dizziness with nausea and either oscillopsia or imbalance |
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (A–D have to be fulfilled) |
(A) Recurrent vestibular vertigo |
(B) Duration of an attack always <1 min |
(C) Symptoms invariably provoked by the following changes of head position: |
Lying down or |
Turning over in the supine position |
or at least 2 of the following manoeuvres: |
Reclining the head |
Rising up from supine position |
Bending forward |
(D) Not attributable to another disorder |
