Anatomical location of the implanted leads

The anatomical position of the deepest contact on the implanted leads (ie, contact 0) relative to the MCP is provided. The brain MRIs obtained immediately after surgery were loaded onto the stereotactic planning workstation and merged to the preoperative images. The cursor was then placed over the lead tip artefact and the position of that point relative to the MCP was provided by the software. These measurements indicate proper placement of the leads within the posteroventral GPi.
