  • Scales are negatively poled so that a higher score indicates lower quality of life or lower functioning. Comparison of means to historical norms by one sample two-tailed Student t test; Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons (α=0.001). MANCOVA of SF-36 scores with length of hospitalisation and APACHE II as covariates revealed a significant group differences for Role Emotional (F(1,26)=8.219; p=0.008, ηp2=0.240). The multivariate test was significant (Wilks-Lamda = 0.333; F(8,19)=4.760; p=0.002). Bold type indicates statistically significant differences.
