Summary

We report a 69-year-old female with cerebral and cerebellar symptomatology of 15-month duration. At autopsy, both panencephalopathic Creutzfeldt-Jakob and plaque-predominant Alzheimer diseases were found. Plaque amyloid was exclusively of the β/A4 type, but abundant abnormal protease-resistant protein was identified by Western blot analysis of brain extracts.
