Nineteen cases of bilateral caudate nucleus infarction have been reported to date.1-11 The head of the caudate nucleus is supplied by 3 arteries: the lateral lentriculostriate (branch from the middle cerebral artery); anterior lentriculostriate (branch from A1 segment of the anterior cerebral artery); and the Heubner recurrent artery (branch from the proximal A2, A1–A2 junction, or distal A1).
